Damn you, Bonnie Marie!
Bonnie Marie of ChicKnits fame recently had talked about knitting machines and how they are positively the best way to take care of tons of stockinette. Well, I don't have one of those fancy smanchie knitting machines, but I do have a Bond Ultimate Knitting Machine. And I pulled it out last night.
I was knitting away at Yoda's sweater and I realized that the pattern figures were not going to work for puggy. The thing with pugs is that their chests are extremely large compared to the rest of the body. So if I make a large based on the chest, it will be too long for her little body. I noticed this after a whole day's of knitting. So I ripped it out. I then decided to try to Bond to make up for lost time. I also was hoping that I could gauge the dimensions I would need a lot easier.
Well, it is working fairly well, but I am still trying to work out the kinks of the sweater....Now I am afraid I might be hooked on the sweater machine-Damn you, Bonnie Marie!

I have always wanted to try the knitting machine but...I love the whole process of knitting with my hands. It could be worth it for tons of STST like you said though!

I'd love to hear your updates on this. A woman in my knitting group (The Eastside Stitchers) has a knitting machine. I went to go take a look at it and I'm almost positive "Santa" is going to bring me one for Christmas!
