What is the exchange rate in Yen?

Ei was gifted with the Japanese magazine with this pattern:

How beautiful!! So, I found the magazine on It costs 1050 yen. I think that comes out to be $9...hmmmm. Not sure about shipping though. I think some of these yarn stores need to start carrying the Japanese magazines, too. They have French, German, British... Just my thought. If anyone knows of a store that carries them, let me know!!

BTW, I am still working on a couple last Christmas gifts, the Ribby Cardi, and the Glorious Gloves. Yes, those are still around. I need to get through the second one so I can finish my Cherry Tree Hill Socks! Pictures of progress tomorrow.

Yoda says, "Hi!" to everyone. She is licking my hand as I type, so I think that means I am done...

Hi! I met you at Fringe one night during the special knitting night and I've been reading your blog ever since. Anyway there is a Japanese grocery store in Arlington Heights called Mitsuwa that is located in a mall that has other Japanese stores in it -- including a book store. I think I saw that book there the last time I was there. If you can show me what the cover looks like I can pick it up for you. It's not a big deal for me because my mom lives near there and I visit her ever few weeks and she loves to go to that mall.

Cool!! Your going to knit that cable sweater also! I bought Jaeger Chaminox for it. That's what Siow Chin used. It is one of the most luxurious yarns I have ever felt. I have 3 sweaters that I'm dying to knit now! Help!!!

I ordered the book from It's costing approximately $20 with the shipping. I'm only hoping that there is an English translation!
